Google Ads Tip: Maximize Clicks

Maximize clicks is really good when you don't have any data or when you're starting from zero. What you want to do is to get clicks on your ads so that you start driving traffic to your website, so that you can see what's happening and what's not happening. Because if you're not getting any traffic, then you will not know where the problem is, whether it's the campaign targeting, the keywords, the ads, the landing page, or the website or actually the offer or the product. But once you start to drive traffic, you will see what's happening and what's not happening.

The good thing with maximizing clicks is you will start to... I'm not saying that you start to get results very soon, but you will start to see a lot of activity because Google is going to get you the maximum number of clicks for your budget and that is the key. You don't need to worry about bidding and keyword management, it will automate and it's going to get you the clicks, which you are hopefully looking for to get those conversions. So it does not rely on the conversion data it's only looking to get you the clicks, and you'll find that you're getting a very high average CPC, which is likely to obviously lead to that conversion. So let it run. When you have zero data in your account, you need to invest in buying that data from Google.

It's not about wasting money. 99% of people who I see and meet think this is wasting their budget. No, it's not, because we are buying data to make data-driven decisions. Without this data, you do not know. I do not know what's wrong and what's working and what we can do to optimize the campaigns. What you've got to do is you just make sure that you set up a maximum bid amount when you're running maximum clicks. So you can say, well, I don't want to bid more than $10 or $5, and then it's Google. It's going to restrict that and the same with the maximize conversion value because it has got that conversion - once you've got the conversion value set up in your account, you will then see and Google will then work out which click is going to lead to the maximum conversion value.
