Video Marketing Tips For Small Business

Okay. I believe we are live. Just give me a moment. I'll make sure everything is working fine and we should get started. Okay. Seems to be working well. Good evening everyone, my name is Uzair, and welcome to today's YouTube Livestream. It is five o'clock in the UK and every weekday at this time, I go Livestream over here to teach Google Ads, digital marketing, or other related subjects. If you are new here, the format of the sessions is fairly- very informal, I should say. You don't need to sign up or anything like that. All you do is just turn up and join the conversation, say hello. Hopefully, you will learn a few things from me and take your know-how and knowledge to the next level. What I do usually go through the presentation or some kind of workflow and then I go through any questions you may have.

There is a comment box on the right-hand side of the video, on your computer screen. Please put in the questions over there as we go along and I'll revert to them towards the end. If you are watching it live and you can hear me fine them, please put a little yes, and do let me know which country you are joining in from. Hi Mike. Good to see you. We'll get the slideshow on the screen.

Today I'm going to go through some results as to what's happening with our video marketing efforts and things which we are doing. Okay. Declap from Canada. Richard, hello from California. Adam. Hi, Paramjit. Brilliant. Everybody is fine and they can hear me and see me. Brilliant. That's all. That's what I like when everything goes to plan. Okay. I'm going to go through some results as to why we do video marketing and hopefully, this will also inspire you, take your marketing to the next level. As you very well know that I put up videos as well as live streams every weekday and I've been doing these live streams since pretty much the lockdown started. A few months now, and this has helped me take our marketing, absolutely to the next level and I wish I started the live streaming a long time ago because I'm very excited for the future.

The good thing is, the barrier to entry, you can't just pick up a camera or a phone and go live streaming on YouTube. You need to have a thousand subscribers. Those who are serious about video marketing and especially YouTube, you need to put in the hard graft and the hard work before you start to Livestream. Livestreaming is absolutely going to do wonders for your business and for your brand and I would highly recommend that you work towards it so that you reach that first milestone or the goal, which is to reach 1000 subscribers. I know at least three people who I know personally as clients, as well as on a friendship level, that they are aspiring to reach those a thousand subscribers and as soon as they reach them, and I know they will because they are putting in the hard work and one of them is actually live here, Richard, on this Livestream.

I believe Richard if I'm not wrong, this is your day 79. What Richard has given himself, a 90-day challenge of uploading one video a day consecutively for 90 days. Richard, please do put that number in the comment for all of us, so that hopefully everyone will see that yes, you are 79, it was. I'm correct. That's right. He's been uploading and you can check out his channel as well and he's got some amazing content. He's improving his video skills and video marketing at a very rapid pace and I'm sure, and I know he will be a huge success. If you guys are doing video marketing, then please do put the video in the comment box on here, and give us a little bit of a run through as to what, how you started, and where you are in your journey.

Have you generated any leads or sales? Okay. This makes my day absolutely makes it worthwhile what we and myself are doing as a business. When I see and read comments like these on Facebook and on social media, Arnold, I honestly don't know. I know him in a Facebook group and I did an interview about two years ago. In fact, he's put the date in here, 7th of August, 2018, on Thinkific. Now, for those of you who don't know Thinkific, it's an app to manage your online courses, which we use for our courses. Thinkific invited me to be a guest speaker and talk about video marketing and I was, I believe at that point in time, about seven, eight months into my video marketing journey and I was pretty new at that time as well, but I had a system and I was working with that system, which I showed everyone how I'm managing my video marketing.

I'll pick that one up and you can see on the screen that he is now past 5,000 subscribers so it's a great achievement and you put in the hard work, you do it consistently. Absolutely, you're going to get the results. The good news is I would say the majority of the people on YouTube who start off with a channel give up within 30 days, 40 days, maximum of two months. They think it's a waste of time. Nobody's viewing, watching, and engaging with the content. The thing is with YouTube and with other social media channels, it takes a bit of time to build up your brand. You got to give yourself a two-year target. Look, in 2 years' time, I want to be 10,000 subscribers or whatever, how many thousand subscribers or, you know, you can have some KPIs and metrics - that I want to have sales or a turnover for so much.

I need to have so many customers. I need to be generating so many leads and so much traffic to my website and all these sessions when I'm uploading every day, it is increasing my brand awareness, driving more traffic to the website, and absolutely generating more revenue for us as a business. I don't leave this office. I hardly left my office for over two years now, two and a half years. All I do is come here on my desk and I reach out to the world and I've got clients all over the world. It's not about bragging, but what I'm trying to say to you is I want to share what I'm achieving and I'm proud of myself and my team because there are quite a few people behind me, including my wife. She works very hard as well.

Keeps me straight on my focus on there, as well as on what needs to be done and we've got a great team. Now, it has built up and we will carry on, you know, creating great content and building up our brand and then I see all these comments on YouTube, as well on Google My Business, people review us and comments put up over here on the videos during the Livestream. I'm really and truly humbled that, you know, what we put out, people love and like, and it is also making a difference to other people's livelihood and to their business and their lives. That's one thing that keeps me going. Keeps me inspired that yes, it is making a difference. I'm not just talking to a camera and a computer screen. There are people at the other end, somewhere in the world which I am reaching out to and engage with us.

This is a screenshot from my YouTube channels and analytics page and you can see that this is amazing, that more people discovered your videos from sources outside of YouTube in the last 28 days. What this means is more people saw my video on Google and there are places where we are uploading. We've got a very I wouldn't say a complicated, but extremely powerful and a very comprehensive workflow system after I log off from here. It's not that I switch off here and that's the end of it. No, the work actually, starts from there. The whole team kicks in. I believe we've got about seven or eight now. We will start transcribing it, video editing, uploading, posting, sharing on social media, on the website, and so on. A lot of work gets done afterward, and this is why we are getting results like these.

Before I show you some more results, I need to have a little bit of a rant and take some things off my chest. I don't do ranting a lot, but I was fuming when I saw this post. How very rude of Google to put their blooming video on number one and put mine on number two and number three. I'm not going to take this. I'm going to go after the number one spot, that's for sure but I was pleased, not surprised I should say, but I was a... I knew that this is my goal. I want to come up on Google. My videos want to start popping up for some really good keywords. This is for learning Google Ads, which we've been targeting for quite a while and now it's starting to pop up on Google and this is why YouTube is now telling me that my videos are being found more outside of YouTube and on other places and the other places they refer to is Google. Yeah, two out of three is not too bad and number one, being Google Ads, and also it will be, I want to take another screenshot of the number one spot being my video as well. I shall keep on working towards it.

Here's another one. Google Ads for photographers. We uploaded quite a few videos, April and June, as you can see from the dates on these videos over here, this was the 4th of June, the 29th of April, and the 5th of June, the three-pack. Now can you imagine how powerful this is? When your videos start to pop up on Google and the Google pages full of text. The only any kind of image which is on Google page or Google page one or page, whichever are these thumbnails of the videos, except the shopping ads, which are completely different. But over here, if you are trying to get ranked organically, this is the easiest, the quickest, and the fastest way to reach Google page one, you are going to leapfrog and jump about all your competitors because not many people are doing this. We shall just keep it a little secret between us.

Even if it is out in the open world, even if I show everyone how to do this, 99% of people won't do it. That's the reality. No, most people won't bother. They'll give up very quickly and those who like Richard are going to start leaping all the competitors and they are going to come up and hopefully, these results are, is going to inspire you as well. That, you know, you too should get started with video marketing. Now, Neil Patel, nobody can beat him when it comes to SEO, right? Those of you who are in the marketing world, you know, you put in any kind of keyword in Google, he will be there, up there with the biggest and the best and I'm sitting pretty in the middle between him. The only thing I can say is I've got more hair than him. Sorry, Neil.

There you go. You know, people will start to take notice and they'll start to take note that this guy, this face, this brand is popping up everywhere and this is how this is our strategies to create good quality content. That is the key. You can run ads as much as you want, and you will find lots of people on Facebook and YouTube with Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and big houses in the background and trying to sell you. I rarely sell on these sessions because I don't need to, but it's, you got to build up that trust. Once you build up that trust, you really get the work and when you get inbound leads, these are very hot leads and they convert very well. I just want to go through what happens, you know, after all this work, what we are doing, we need to create a funnel.

We don't want this funnel leaking away. All your efforts and hard work will go to waste so you got to catch those leads, first of all, and then convert them. There's a little system that I will go through with you very quickly and if you've got any questions, I can see some comments and questions popping up. I will come back to this in a little while. The first thing is the lead magnet. You need to offer a white paper, a cheat sheet, a checklist, a video, or anything for free. You can say to them, "You know, give me your name and email and in exchange, I will give you something in return," which could be of value to them. We have lead magnets as well in our business, but what I'm doing right now is I'm putting up these videos on YouTube for free.

I'm not asking you for any emails, any signups, or even to buy anything, right? It's completely free of charge. You can come in, watch, view the videos as much as you like, and that's it. But what happens is anytime someone views my video from YouTube, be it on here or on my website or embedded somewhere else, you get entered into my remarketing list. You get pixeled in. I'm building up my pixels. The more people I attract, the more views I get, the more, instead of an email list, I've got a pixel list, and then I can hit anyone with ads or offers whenever I want to Google Ads. That's a strategy that I use to pretty good effect. I would like to think what many people say, well, a lead magnet is great. You need to have a lead magnet.

You need to get an email list, which is fine. We also build up an email list, but I'm also focusing more on this pixel list not many people talk about and then we start to get emails as well. I get messages on LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, that I need to work with you. Then the next step is the tripwire. Tripwire is something which is a very low value, low-cost offer. There's no hesitation of someone buying and having to think about it, need to raise a purchase order from the accounts department, for someone to buy. If they're in a big company, it's kind of like when you're at a checkout in a supermarket and you pick up a bar of chocolate or a pack of chewing gum. You don't think twice, "Oh, shh. Did I buy this? How much is it? Is it, and so can I afford it?"

Not really. You just pick it up and put it in your shopping basket, right? The tripwire should be the same thing. It should be such a low value. Usually in single figures. If it's $7, $9, or sometimes even less. Tripwires are used to get somebody to put their hand in the pocket, got the credit card out, and start that journey with you. Because if they buy once they're more likely to buy more and then you can offer them upsells, then you have the core offer. What is your core offer? My tripwire, let's say, okay, let's have a look at my funnel. My lead magnet can be my 45-day challenge. I've got a couple of other Google sheets where I'm giving you guys how to set up your Google Ads campaigns. The lead magnet could be these videos as well without any signup because you know, you're coming here, viewing me, watching me, engaging with me.

That's I believe in my humble opinion, a lot more value to me than someone signing up on an old landing page, giving me an email address, which could be a fake one, and never come back to me because they just want that free offer and then they go away. Whereas over here, you investing time with me is the biggest reward for me because everybody's time is valuable and I obviously truly appreciate you guys being here with me and some of you, you know, Richard, Sandy, Adam, and Mike. Few of you, you know, you guys keep coming back and I truly appreciate that. The core offer as a lead magnet, it could be a video, free offer, right? So this is my free offer to you. The tripwire is my low value, $25 courses. I said it was it could be a single figure, but now I've just made that $25.

I started off at seven, I believe, and now up them up and people are still buying. The conversion rates are still the same. Core offer is my Google Ads management or the agency where we take on other people's accounts and run ads for other companies and other professionals. That's my core offer and the profit max or the profit maximizer is if I'm doing a good job in month one, you hopefully will stay with me on month two, month three, month four. I've got no acquisition costs anymore. I've got a customer and all I'm doing is invoicing that client month on month and maximizing my profit and that's what you want to do. This ascension is fairly straightforward. What happens is most people want to jump right there, or we want to sell a high ticket offer. Well, I don't know you, why would I buy a high-value ticket offer from you? I won't buy an expensive product until I've tried your cheaper one and then a mid-range one, and then the high ticket one so you got to set up your funnel in this way, and you'll find that you are going to convert a lot and be more profitable.

What I would appreciate very much is I'm trying to raise a few more reviews on our Google My Business page and if you can take a moment or two, I truly appreciate it. You going to this link whenever you have a moment and giving me a little review. You feel that I'm giving you a good value and these sessions are beneficial to you. Let's go to the comments and see what we have got. Okay. Shaif Ali, "Could you please tell me how to generate calls for BPO?" I'm not sure what BPO means. If you could rephrase that, but there are lots of videos on call ads in this playlist over here, which you can refer to. Hello, Mike, "Can you Livestream from personal YouTube accounts, or does it have to be a brand?" You can. Of course, you can. You can have a personal YouTube account but you need to have a thousand subscribers.

You got to start working towards that first of all. Okay. My laptop has died, so I need to just move this out of the way a bit and go to my other monitor. That's why I've got millions of monitors. Sandy, "If I'm not getting traffic, then should I do discover ads and quality of content on YouTube?" Why wouldn't you get traffic? If you have set up the campaigns the right way, targeting the bids, make sure you've got the right bids. If you're bidding too low, you are not getting the impressions. To get clicks, first, before the clicks, you need to get the impressions. If your ads are not getting any impressions, you won't get any clicks. Switching over to discover ads would be the same thing. You might not get any impressions because your bids or the budgets are not right, or your targeting is completely off.

You need to go through it. The first step of the funnel is the impressions, then clicks, then CTR and conversion. Hey Martyn, good to see you. My friend is a very good, very old friend of mine from our photography days, and if anyone needs any help with the video and he is my guru. With any techie help I need, I'll be on the phone to him, "Martyn please help us, panics stations over here. My microphone is not working or my streaming is not going." He helps me and I think he is going to be helping me with setting up my new audio stuff, which I'll be getting very soon to improve the quality of the audio. Good to see you over here, my friend. Okay. Hello, Mohammed. "I've come across your content. Some really useful information."

Only some? I think it's all. All of them are very useful Mohammed. I'm disappointed, truly. My heart's broken. "Thanks for sharing." You're most welcome. "I've got a new website. What should be my strategy to drive traffic and sales?" Well, that's your strategy, you got to drive traffic and sales, but you got to build up that trust. That is the key to it. You got to build that trust. Why would somebody buy from you? Ask yourself, why would someone buy from yourself? You ask that question to yourself and then you'll probably get that answer. Build that trust. What are you doing to build that trust? Right? Create content. Doesn't matter whether it's a video, podcast, blog post. Offer value upfront, and you're going to get tons of customers and sales and return. I can promise you that. Hi Adam. "man versus machine was fantastic."

You enjoyed seeing me lose, five-nil to the blooming Terminator. I think I need a button over here to kick everyone off from my Livestream If they don't put the right comment. Yeah, it was an eye-opener actually... Is heading that way. I'm afraid we'll all be soon out of a job and I should have a white flag over here which you know, just wave in front of Google and that's it, but it works wonderfully well and we, you know, go through all these smart bidding campaigns on a regular basis. If you set it up properly, it's going to work. You are saying, "If a client lead conversion value is roughly the same as their monthly ad spend, what TCPA still be a smart bidding option?" Let me get this right. "If a client's lead conversion value..." Okay, so that's the conversion value. Fine. "...is the same as the monthly ad spend..."

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this because you want your target CPA to be a lot less than the conversion value, right? If the conversion value is, let's say a hundred now, I'm not sure whether there's an e-commerce website or a lead generation website, but let's say it's hundred dollars, is the conversion value, and then you need to look at the lifetime value as well. Don't just look at the front end of the first transaction. You've got to make sure that you speak with your client and say, "Okay, how many times potentially they will buy off you in the next two years?" Not until when the client dies. That's not what I mean by customer lifetime value. Two years is good enough and if they say is $500, okay, how much are they prepared to pay for a lead? What is the conversion rate? So you've got to go through all these questions and then work out your target CPA. That's how you would do.

Rahil, "I was a digital media planner. Quit my job started a startup." Well done. "Shut it because of COVID." Okay. I'm sorry to hear that, but don't give up too quickly. There are lots of challenges right now, but a huge amount of opportunities and the biggest opportunity I see is online. Everybody is going online. I'm glad I stopped the business networking. If you haven't heard my story, why I started this video marketing, is I used to go to this networking, business networking meetings every other day and I would see the same people and I knew they were not my right audience and I started this online marketing and I started reaching out to the whole world. Digitalize your know-how expertise and knowledge. Let it out there and see what happens. Until you don't do that, you'll never know what you will get. You shut it because of COVID. Now interviewers are asking you...

I'm not sure what you're asking Rahil. Either answer will trap you? Okay. I think you may need to rephrase this. I really don't understand. You went for an interview... I'm going to move on to the next question because I'm not sure what... Delap, "I want my display ads to show only on YouTube, but in placement. It is showing YouTube channels and YouTube videos. How can I only target full YouTube? Not particular channels or YouTube?" Yeah. In your placements where ads show, you can just put up www.youtube.com so that's where you are only targeting the whole YouTube URL and not just certain channels, but obviously, you will get some. Your ad will show up on a channel or a video. It will show you the full URL, but actually, it is on YouTube so you're fine with that. Sandy, "Uzair 2.0 with new content in deep." Okay. How deep do you want to go? I've got... I can take you very deep my friend. How deep can you swim? Or how high can you jump? That's what I would like to ask you. You want to keep up with me then by all means, 'game on!' my friend. "Low-cost offer is like anyone can buy with the e-book." Not really, it has to be of value. You got to feel value in that and we'll find that you are getting... the tripwire offers people are buying.

"Is this like a value ladder?" Yeah, actually your ascension. You're taking from one stage to the next, to the next or in the funnel, deeper down. Just keep it, keep going, pushing them down. Hariharan. I hope I pronounce your name properly. "How do you set up a funnel for B2B business in YT ads? What are the manual targeting methods? Do you find more valuable?" I mean, my video ads are for B2B as well. I will target people who have been to my website, or I can target a custom intent audience where I will put in other competitors' URLs in that audience list and then tell Google, show my ads to people who visit these sites. There are loads of ways, topics. There are many ways you can target your audiences. There are quite a few videos that we have already done in this playlist so go through the audience targeting. I'm sure you will find one there. Over, I think 40 hours worth of videos in here. "Whether video discovery works or the in-stream?" You've got to test it. I cannot answer that for you. It's like that. Both of them are working. We use both of them. Discovery works really well as well to drive a huge amount of traffic for, at a fraction of the cost and very targeted traffickers.

Westley, "Can you talk about keyword matching for YouTube ads?" I will take that comment, Westley, put it in our schedule. For keywords as to how to target. It's pretty similar except for the match type. That's it. You've just got to keep it broad and then you will find, you'll start to get the targeting... but even better than keywords is the audiences. You got to start targeting those. Rahil, "If budget is, for example, 1 million rupees, for an awareness campaign. In what ratio do I divide budget across different platforms and what platforms do I select?" Well, I mean, you got GDN, you got YouTube. These are the two biggest platforms out there. It really depends on how much content, video content you got or image content you've got. You just need to... I can't answer that because obviously, you need to speak with your client or your boss, how much money they want to spend and see which platform or which channels are giving you the best results and then you start putting in more money in those platforms and channels and less on the ones which are wasting away your budget.

Mustafa, "If I want to use YouTube shippable ads to drive leads, do I need to install any tags because I'm using a page builder?" Do not run any ads without conversion tracking, period. You got to set up your conversion tracking because once you start to go on smart bidding, and if you haven't seen my yesterday's Livestream - 'Man vs. Machine,' that is going to be an eye-opener for you. Without conversion tracking, you cannot. You need to set up all your tags, your remarketing tags, analytics, tag manager, and use tag manager to control all your tags. It's pretty easy to do that. If you don't know how to do it, get somebody to do it for you, but you must set up all your, all your tags before you spend a single penny.

Rahil, you're saying you're applying for jobs. Why would the interviewer ask you, "Are you a good entrepreneur?" Well, if you are a good entrepreneur, you would not be applying for a job, but that really doesn't make sense to me. If you are a good entrepreneur, then you can tell that interviewer to stick to the job where the sun doesn't shine and you go and start up your own company and get started because that's, I would recommend. I've never worked for anyone in my entire life, except when I was at college and we used to work part-time at McDonald's or Burger King but after that, I'm pretty much been unemployable so I don't know what people are asking in a job interview and how to present or behave in an interview. I'll probably be kicked out in two minutes from the job.

Okay. Declap, "I am a pro noob." Okay. All right. You change your name on there. "I changed my name." Can you paste my business link?" Which business link? I'm not sure which. Sandy, "After the holiday your stuff is deep, and now thank you for that holiday." I'm going to go back again next week then. If you want to wait another week before I come back, then I'll bring some more stuff. Some more good stuff because the beach and the fresh air have opened up my mind, I think and I'll try my best to keep on giving you some more deeper stuff, so adding more value to your to these sessions. Okay boys and girls, that's I think enough for today. Lots of deep stuff and talking, going on. Yeah. Thank you so much for being here. Oh, one more question has just popped up. I'll finish that off. Robin is the last one, then we'll catch up. "I've been doing PPC since the days of GoTo/Overture. Uzair you totally rock," that said, that's what I want to hear my friend. Thank you very much. Thank you so much, Robin. Thank you, Richard, Mustapha, all the best. Thank you guys for being here. I truly, truly appreciate it, and tomorrow I'll be back with some deeper stuff. Until then stay safe and God bless.
