What is the proper way to gain access to a client's GA4 and Google Tag Manager accounts? If the client does not have these accounts, should we create them or guide them on how to create them? For most clients, it can be a hassle to explain the process of creating these accounts. Clients seek our expertise to help them with their digital marketing, and it is our responsibility to provide a seamless experience.
It's like when a plumber comes to my house and asks me to show them the stop valve to stop the water flow. I don't know where it is, and that's why I called the plumber. In a similar way, we know where the necessary accounts are, and in such cases, we can create a new account and grant the client admin access. It's as simple as that and the quickest solution. Otherwise, waiting for the client to create the accounts could result in a long wait.
