You don’t need to be a “video person” to make this work. I definitely wasn’t. I didn’t like how I looked on camera, I didn’t like how I sounded, and I hated rewatching myself. But here’s what changed everything: I realised the videos weren’t for me. They were for the people who needed my help.
Once I accepted that, things became easier.
Start With Simple, Short Answers
The best way to begin is by answering common questions in your niche. Think of the things people ask you all the time. You can even check Google or social media to see what people are searching for.
Record yourself answering one question at a time. Keep it short. Keep it simple. These videos build authority quickly because people get to see you actually helping, not just claiming you can.
Go Live When You Can

Live videos take things to a different level. You can’t rehearse too much, and that honesty builds trust fast. When someone asks a question live and you answer it on the spot, they can see your real knowledge and personality. It makes you look confident, approachable, and trustworthy.
Use Captions & Hook Viewers Fast

Most people scroll through social media with the sound off. That’s why captions matter.
Also, your hook in the first 3 seconds decides whether someone stops or keeps scrolling. Say something that grabs attention quickly, like a surprising tip or a bold statement. If you don’t hook them early, the rest of the video won’t matter.
Show, Don’t Just Tell

If you can demonstrate something, do it. Show behind-the-scenes moments, how your process works, or even results you’ve helped clients get.
Proof is always stronger than promises. When people see you doing the work, trust forms naturally.
Always End With a Clear Call to Action

It doesn’t matter how good your video is if you don’t tell people what to do next; they’ll scroll away and forget.
Ask them to book a call, download something, subscribe, or watch another video. Make the next step obvious and easy.

Repurpose Everything

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is only posting a video once. But one long piece of content can turn into multiple short clips for different platforms.
You can turn it into reels, TikToks, LinkedIn clips, YouTube Shorts, the list goes on. You did the work already, so get as much mileage out of it as possible.
I started doing this alone, and yes, it took time. But it was worth every second. Once I understood the workflow and built a simple system, I eventually hired help and scaled even more.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to be perfect on camera. You just need to be helpful, consistent, and real. When people see you show up regularly with simple, honest videos, they start trusting you, and trust is what leads to clients.
